  Our Mission for this month is the Care Center, where every unborn child has a special place in the heart of God.  Start collecting now for our Awana Club Collection Night on Jan. 22, 2012.  Here are their needs:  Diaper Wipes, Newborn Diapers, Boy's shoes and clothing, Baby Furniture (in good condition), Diaper Bags, Winter Sleepers, Warm Baby Clothes, Socks and Toddler Raincoats. 
 
   Jan. 8, 2012 is Glow Night - Everyone must bring a flashlight to Awana Club!  We will be taking Awana Clubber ideas tonight for a Clubber's Theme Night later in the year.  Be sure to talk with your Awana Leader about your ideas.
 
  Jan. 15, 2012 is PJ Night -  Wear your PJ's or Sweats and we'll have a fun movie tonight.
 
  Jan. 29, 2012 Sports Team Night - Wear your favorite team colors or your favorite sport uniform.
 
  Feb. 5, 2012 No Awana Club
 
  Feb. 11, 2012 - Saturday - Awana Grand Prix Pit Day 10 a.m. - Noon   
                        Come with your car kit & plans, or purchase your car kit and make up a design and we'll help cut it and assist you in sanding it, and possibly even paint it for the Big Race on March 10, 2012 (Saturday).
 
 
    Welcome back to Awana Club for the 2011-2012 season. We are going to have an exciting time this year! We are looking forward to helping your child grow in his/her relationship with our Lord, Jesus Christ and in growing in his/her Biblical knowledge.  Our Awana Club brochure on the welcome table explains some of our guidelines and you will receive more information from your child‘s club director as the year proceeds. Be sure to take home the Awana Club Schedule and check out our Children‘s Ministry Bulletin Board for updates and special events. If you are new to Awana Club, your child will be receiving a Bear Hug (Cubbies) or Start Gate (Sparks) or Start Zone (Truth & Training), that he/she will need to complete before he/she is eligible to purchase a uniform and handbook. When your child is eligible, he/she will bring home an order form for purchasing the uniform and handbook or you may purchase these in advance.

Awana Club – A weekly Adventure

  A kid’s ministry without fun is a ministry without kids.  That’s why Awana takes fun “seriously.”  Our club meetings are so exciting that kids can’t wait to come back for more!  But fun is only the start.  While kids are having a blast, they’re learning and growing, too.  They participate in games and activities that train their bodies.  They learn Bible verses and spiritual truths that expand their minds.  They encounter life lessons that feed their souls.  With caring, trained leaders investing time, love and wisdom into shaping children’s lives, parents quickly discover that Awana is a fun approach to a serious calling.  Awana teaches children that God is real, He loves them and He has expressed that love through His Son, Jesus Christ.  Kids also learn how God can help them to obey God in a complex world.  The goal of Awana is to give boys and girls the chance to know, love and serve God.  While it’s a serious mission, we believe having fun in the process is a great tool for reaching young people.

 

Cubbies:  ages 3 and 4 years old

Sparks:  Kindergarten through 2nd Grade

Truth & Training:  3rd through 6th Grade

 

Our Awana Club starts Sept. 11, 2011 – April 29, 2012

We meet on Sunday, 4:30 – 6:30 p.m.

Dues are $25.00/Family

Register before Sept. 1, 2011, and the $25.00 dues will be waived.

Extra Costs:  Vest/Shirt & Handbook

  Early registration will be on Sunday, July 10, at our church picnic at Alexander Park. Dues for the entire family for the entire year is $25. Don't forget, register before Sept. 1, 2011, and the $25.00 dues will be waived. We meet at FBCC on Sunday evenings from 4:30 P.M.—6:30 P.M,  September 11, 2011 through April ,2012. We are planning another exciting year, but are in need of several more leaders. Please consider joining in on the fun and joy of serving our Lord Jesus Christ in this adventure, called Awana Club: Games Leader, Truth & Training Girls Leader, Sparks Leader
