Kristy Engel received her Master’s Degree in Pediatric Nursing in May 2009. She serves at the Good Samaritan Hospital in La Romana , Dominican Republic . Begun as a missionary outreach by Haitian Baptists, the hospital serves not only the people of La Romana, but gives special attention to the many Haitian sugar cane workers who live in the surrounding bateys (housing settlements for sugar cane company employees).
